In 2012 I started writing novels because I couldn't keep the stories in my head any longer. I haven't stopped since. I now live in Denver with one husband, one kid, and two fluffy cats. By day I'm a hotel designer/developer, Model UN Coach, and Foster parent for the SPCA. I love food, theatre, pottery, world travel (30 countries and counting!), and most animal related activities.
As the granddaughter of holocaust survivors I am also deeply passionate about human rights and educating others about genocide both then and unfortunately now.
I think loving books goes without saying but I'll put it in anyways. I love books. LOVE.
When it comes to reading I'm interested in almost every genre besides Horror. I also love inspirational nonfiction and books on food, leadership, craft, and creativity. Within the Young Adult realm I tend towards:
-Contemporaries with unreliable narrators and/or with laughs in every line
-Historical Fiction set during World War II, the roaring twenties, and Regency England
-Fantasy worlds that make me want to move into the book
-SciFi stories about the future of our world
-Dystopians that make me want to get up and fix the planet
I graduated from Stern College with a degree in shaped arts and a drawer full of Playbills. In my writing life, I'm an active member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), Romance Writers of America (RWA), YARWA (Young Adult Chapter of the RWA) and a perpetual Nanowrimo Participant. I also am a proud Ravenclaw.
